These days a well managed festival is about protecting the environment, not destroying it.

Is about people having fun within that environment and leaving it at the end as you found it. Here is a short video of one of the Bracknell festivals in 2004 to give you an idea of what kind of variety you can expect.

Starting a new Festival seemed like a good idea at the time......."cool, let's get on and do it".

Even with some experience behind us, the process has been a massive amount of work; applying for a license, getting some sponsorship to kick things off (thank you Mike at Cottages 4 You ), getting more help because more things need to be done.............the list goes on.

One thing which gradually dawns on you are the number of different perspectives people have about a festival.....and particularly a festival here in the Dales; gangs of roving hells angles and a sea of mud  being one negative, and thankfully mistaken belief we are keen to correct.

The Settle Festival is an event which will be a fantastic, safe celebration which will attract families and have the music credibility to be a first choice festival for people of all ages who love music.

The organisers are local people who love the special place we are fortunate to live in, we want to share that with others; not just for three days......but to show during those three days why this is a special place you can return to at any time.

One of the important things a festival brings to people is a sense of release from the mundane and the ordinary. A chance to forget about modern life for a few days and to remember some of the things which make us feel good. The Yorkshire Dales offers that every day of the year; it is a healthy, active place in every way.
