Looking at the report it doesn't say that it's against the idea of a festival. It's just saying that more work needs to be done to iron out all the concerns.
"The Committee concluded that it was necessary to reject the application to promote the _object_ives."
Basically doesn't that mean "we're not gonna give you this liscence untill you provide us with adequate solutions to these problems" ?
Are these problems going to be hard to overcome?
Solving these will take most of the _object_ors who have real concerns away and you'll just be left with a few NIMBY's and people jumping on the band wagon, which the council should be able to see straight through.
Go for the appeal! I cant believe the proposals were rejected and the reasons were vague at best. I also can't believe the Rathmell Killjoys got a solicitor. They clearly have far to much money and time. Is there a possibility to relocate to a friendlier neighbourhood as a back up? Skipton has held festivals?
